Jovana is a beautiful young woman who lives lonely with her husband, in the rocky wasteland area. The road which passes near their house brings them people with different destinies, which settle in Jovana, destroying her picture of her own life as a quiet, idyllic flow. Without her will, she is involved in somebody else's evil, which grows to evil in herself. Fighting that penetration, she changes the conflict with the outer world into the conflict with her husband, and the weapon for her mutiny is evil itself...

This is a highly stylized, visually stunning movie, with little dialogue, but very powerful performances. In the title role, Merima Isakovic is a captivating presence on the screen and we are mesmerized by her character's unexpected transformations. Often surprising, sometimes erotic (the dance scene could've been a landmark, in my opinion), "Jovana Lukina" is a veritable hidden gem waiting to be discovered.
